Nearby Attractions
Just 100m from the lakeside and a five-minute walk from the Victorian town of Bowness in Cumbria. In the town you will find many visitor-friendly shops, activities, pubs and restaurants. There are many opportunities to enjoy Windermere from the water, from launches and steamers to wind surfing and powerboating. At Ferry Nab, close to the campsite, you can take the Mallard chain ferry across Windermere to Ferry House on the western shore and even more glorious walking country. A ferry has been operating on this route for over 500 years.
