Brockhole, the National Park Visitor Centre, is a good place to start your exploration, as it holds an enormous collection of information, books and audio/visual material about the Lakes under one roof. The entire area is a walker's paradise with its scenic beauty. Literary associations with famous artists are everywhere - from Wordsworth at Dove Cottage in Grasmere to Beatrix Potter at Sawrey. Another interesting excursion for the artistically inclined would be the Potter Gallery in the Main Street at nearby Hawkshead. The caravan site also gives you easy access to fun water activities at Windermere, plus sailing, canoeing and windsurfing at Coniston.

Perhaps one of the best caravan club sites, in the Northwest. Ideally suited for caravans, I would suggest less so for motorhomes. Only because of the distance to the nearest town or village, three miles approx. We go regular with our motorhome. Good walking area, also good for cycling/biking. There is a restaurant/pub within five mins walk of the site, sometimes a bit limited on opening times. Grange itself is full of old world charm, definately not for the kiss me quick fanatics.
