Windermere Camping and Caravanning Club Site

A few miles from the lake which shares its name, Windermere Club Site has many environmentally-friendly facilities to match its beautiful surroundings. You may see deer, song thrushes or rabbits by your pitch at this Site, which is perfect for families. A fully functional disabled facilty for wheelchair users, including level access shower and equipment. The Dales Way long-distance footpath is a mile and a half from Site. Follow it into Windermere and take the train back to Staveley station.

Kendal is close by. It has good restaurants and shopping facilities. It is also home to the Abbot Hall Art Gallery, the Museum of Lakeland Life and the Kendal Museum. Sizergh Castle is based on a 14th century Pelé tower, extended in Tudor times. The town of Bowness-on-Windermere has the World of Beatrix Potter attraction and the Lake District Visitor Centre. Coniston lake is very beautiful. The Steam Yacht Gondola leaves from Coniston Pier or Brantwood jetty for a 45-minute tour.
