Information
Carmarthenshire is one of thirteen historic counties. It is the third largest in Wales. The county town and administrative centre of Carmarthenshire is Carmarthen. With its fertile land and agricultural produce, Carmarthenshire is known as the "Garden of Wales" The three largest towns are Llanelli, Carmarthen and Ammanford.

Fforest Fawr and Black Mountain extend into the east of the county and the Cambrian Mountains into the north. The highest point is Fan Brycheiniog, 2,525 feet. The south coast contains many fishing villages and sandy beaches.

The Towy is the longest river flowing entirely within Wales and is noted for its trout and salmon fishing. Other rivers include the Loughor which forms the eastern boundary with Glamorgan.

Things to do
There are so many beautiful walks all over Carmarthenshire. Whether you feel like a seaside stroll or a walk up some of the highest mountains in southern Britain, Carmarthenshire has it all. The only question is how many you can fit in.

There's a lot more to Carmarthenshire than just its gorgeous green countryside, they have some of the most glorious sandy beaches in Europe.
